John McKenna is the author of the annual The 100 Best Restaurants in Ireland, published by The Sunday Times, and writes The Irish Stew, a weekly food culture report on Substack John, who’s most recent books are Ireland The Best, and Wild Atlantic Way: Where to Eat and Stay has won many awards for his work, including the André Simon Special Award and, most recently, the Outstanding Achievement Award, with his partner Sally McKenna, at the 2023 Irish Food Writing Awards. John was born in Belfast, studied in Dublin, and lives in West Cork.
