Ballymaloe Grainstore is delighted to announce a special event screening of Driving Miss Daisy: The Play, starring Angela Lansbury and James Earl Jones, followed by a question and answer session with Miss Lansbury as she makes a personal appearance to The Grainstore.
The evening begins with Driving Miss Daisy: The Play, the stunning comedy-drama play based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning play and Academy Award-winning film. This performance was filmed in Australia in 2013.
It is immediately followed by a conversation with East Cork resident, Angela Lansbury.
The critically-acclaimed production stars two of the world’s greatest living actors. Angela Lansbury is a five-time Tony Award and three‐time Academy Award nominee, and was recently made a Dame in the 2014 New Year’s Honours List. She received a 2014 Honourary Academy Award for her 'extravagant achievements in cinematic industry of her career of 75 years'.
James Earl Jones is a two ‐time Tony Award winner and Academy Award nominee. Also starring is four- time Tony Award winner Boyd Gaines.
Miss Lansbury, she will offer audiences insight into her role in Driving Miss Daisy as well as her incredible career on stage and screen.
Driving Miss Daisy: The Play tells the affecting story of the decades-long relationship between a stubborn Southern matriarch and her compassionate chauffeur. An iconic tale of pride, changing times and the transformative power of friendship, the play has warmed the hearts of millions of theatregoers worldwide.
The play is 85 minutes, and the post-show Q&A is 45 minutes.
